OMAS MOTOR is an Italian company based in Veneto. Founded in 1978 and initially dedicated to the production of components for exhaust systems, the company has been able to develop by diversifying its production in different sectors and by investing in next generation machines to continue growing.

The target
Diversifying production meant that OMAS needed to be able to adapt to new production standards in which small batch production and prototyping were increasingly present.
Hence the need for a system that could guarantee quality, automation and production flexibility.
The solution
To face the new challenges of the market, OMAS MOTOR decided to purchase no fewer than four BLM GROUP systems: one LT5 and one ELECT150 to cut and bend tubes in the tractor and photovoltaic panel industry, one LT360 robotized Lasertube cutting system to laser cut and trim tubes after bending and an ELECT80 tube bending machine for smaller tubes.

Robotized laser cutting system for cutting a wide variety of parts, such as hydroformed parts, curved tubes, flat or pressed sheets, deep drawn and preformed parts. The ArtCut programming software allows offline programming and simulation of the entire cutting cycle without ever having to interrupt production.
Fully electric tube bender with right or left-handed bending direction for fully automatic bending of tubes up to 150 mm diameter. The many features available guarantee quality results even under extreme bending conditions, such as particularly rigid materials, thin materials and average bend radius to diameter ratios of less than 1.

Highly efficient laser cutting system for tubes, ideal for materials such as austenitic steel in which the cutting performance of the fiber source, paired with the absence of maintenance and the important savings in power consumption, make laser cutting more convenient than material removal.
The prototyping phase was very time-consuming and expensive. Now, with the new machines and software, you start from the 3D model and all CAD evaluations are carried out in the office, simulation and evaluation of the production times included.
